Ken's story
Trying to walk the Weight Away Ken bought Scott’s DVD and began exercising in his living room five times a week. The routines consisted of walking- in-place moves done in a 4-by-4-foot space. "At first, I could only manage five minutes," He says. "But the routines made me feel energized, so I kept plugging along. Soon, I'd worked up to 30 minutes," Ken says.
Mention that Ken took all this on after being given a ticket for no seat belt. He tried to tell the officer he was too big for the seatbelt, but the office told him to get an extention and still gave him the ticket.

Finding time to work out was tough, for Ken who in addition to caring for his kids, had a full-time job as an administrative supervisor  and was a member of Alumni choir. "But I'd find ways to fit it in - getting up early in the morning, or exercising at night," He says. "The DVDs were convenient because I never had to go to a gym."
Ken was losing 2 lbs. a week. After several months, he finally felt motivated to tackle his toughest issue - healthy eating. He switched from white bread to whole grain, substituted turkey for beef and added more produce to his diet. Ken also gave up his daily 6-pack of Coke and started sipping water. When he felt tempted, she'd get moving. "I'd take my kids to the playground or just walk around the block," He says. "It would bring me back to my focus." But Ken still battled his dieting demons. "Often, I'd have to grab food and shove it down the garbage disposal, telling myself, 'You are worth more than half a pie.'"
The Payoff
As the months went by, Ken's endurance increased - and within a year, he’d worked up to Scott’s The 5-Mile Advanced Walk at Home, a 60minute DVD. His first year she dropped 100 lbs. Within four years, he'd reached 175 lbs. Ken has maintained his size 32 inch waist for four years, and continues to use Scott’s DVDs five times a week. "Every day, I wake up and decide, 'I'm going to be healthy,'" he says. His next goal: a trip to Africa - something He wouldn't have thought possible when He couldn't fit into a seat belt!

Way-on-Track Tips From an Expert!
Ken lost weight by using walking guru Scott Cole’s at-home DVDs - and you can, too.
"It's never too late to begin a healthier lifestyle," says Scott. "God designed your body for motion.
And the more you move, the more you'll find you want to!" Here, some of Scott’sfavorite tricks:

1. Remember your body is capable of change.
2. You are never 'stuck' in one condition.
3. You're not 'doomed' to be out of shape, no matter how big you are.
4. A positive mind-set is the first step to fixing things."
5.Take five. To avoid getting overwhelmed, start small. "Just five minutes of brisk walking is enough to begin bringing your blood pressure down - and soon you'll want to add more:'
6.Forget "no pain, no gain." "Workouts should feel invigorating, not draining! If you're doing an exercise routine that hurts, stop - it's likely the wrong activity for you."
7.Keep walking shoes in your car or at the office. "So whenever you have 10 spare minutes, y.ou can bum 100 calories!"
8.Pack a snack:
When she's on the go, the lossee takes her own _ healthy treats along for the ride. "That way she is never in a situation where I have to go to a fast-food restaurant ...
9.Customize Your Order:
Dining out doesn't have to mean blowing a diet - losseess are not afraid to ask waiters to adjust meals to make them more inshape-friendly.
10.Make Family Matter:
"Kids watch what their parents eat," says Ken "You can't say, 'eat your vegetables!' if you're not eating yours. Everyone in our family is on the same program-my son already loves salad! .. (When everyone eats the same thing, Alison notes, it also makes prepping for mealtime that much easier!)

Mix It Up:
"With workouts, Scott believes
you should always do something different," the star says. His present routine includes boxing, running, . jumping rope, strength training and Tai chi taught by Scott himself. (Whew!)
Be a Pal:
No blue or red team to lean on? Start your own! Find someone to embark on
a weight-loss journey with you, says Scott "A partner, a best friend; I know people who do Biggest Loser competitions at the office." Try it with a trusting friend.
